Description
Huntcliff reaches out into the North Sea from the seaside town of Saltburn in Yorkshire. It was originally used as a Roman signalling station to warn of imminent invasion Saltburn began as a small fishing village, famed for smuggling but became popular in Victorian times when the railway came. The Ship Inn and cottages in this picture were all that Saltburn originally consisted of. The stream running into the sea is Skelton Beck.
