Description
Derwent Isle is the largest and most northerly of the four islands on Derwentwater in the Lake District, near to Keswick. In medieval times it was owned by Fountains Abbey and It came into the King’s hands in 1539. It was given to the National Trust in 1951 and is now tenanted. It is close to the town of Keswick.
