Description
President Bill Clinton proposed to Hilary Clinton on the banks of Ennerdale in 1973. It's the most westerly of the lakes in the English Lake District National Park and also the most remote. Ennerdale Water is 2.5 miles long and currently used as a reservoir to serve the coastal towns of Cumbria. It's a glacial lake and a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Colourful in Autumn, this image was taken as mist was begining to decend over the surrounding fells.
