Steam loco 1264 was built in 1947 for the London and North Eastern Railway. It remained in main line service until 1965 and is now owned by a preservation trust. It currently runs on the North York Moors railway and is shown here arriving in Goatland en route to Levisham and Pickering. Over 400 of this design of locomotive were produced between 1942 and 1952.
In so many ways the human race has lost its connection with nature.
