Flowering purple heather on an August evening on Brimham Moor in Nidderdale, North Yorkshire close to Brimham Rocks. The flowering purple heather covers much of the 50 acres of the moor close to the city of Ripon. There is less heather moorland remaining than there is rainforest and the majority of it exists in the UK.
