After two hours in a portable hide at Glapthorn Cow Pastures nature reserve in Northamptonshire this young muntjac deer rewarded me with a nice inquisitive pose! Muntjacs. also known as barking deer because of their call, were introduced into the UK from China and have now spread around much of South East England. sadly, they are not always welcome in nature reserves because of the distruction they cause to the trees and undergrowth.
In so many ways the human race has lost its connection with nature. I developed a love of nature in my teens, which has never left me, and it's my wish that, in some small way, my images will help you reconnect with the beautiful world we live in and share. My close up images show you the intricate beauty of nature which, I hope, will encourage you to stop, really look and appreciate the beauty and magnificent complexity of all creation.
