The limestone cliff of Kilnsey Crag in Wharfdale presents a popular challenge to climbers. Made of limestone, like so much of the Yorkshire Dales, and formed by glaciers in the valley, at 170 feet it towers over the small hamlet of Kilnsey. It has been painted by Turner and folklore has it that 'Old Nan', allegedly a witch, lived under Kilnsey Crag.
In so many ways the human race has lost its connection with nature. I developed a love of nature in my teens, which has never left me, and it's my wish that, in some small way, my images will help you reconnect with the beautiful world we live in and share. My close up images show you the intricate beauty of nature which, I hope, will encourage you to stop, really look and appreciate the beauty and magnificent complexity of all creation. I'm never happier than when I'm sitting beneath a tree deep in a wood. I hope you find and deepen your connection too.
