Description
Kielder Forest is the largest area of man made woodland in England, occupying some 250 square miles in Northumberland. Managed by the Forestry Commission, the woodland consists mainly of conifers. The forest is one of the last English strongholds of the European red squirrel, and provides excellent habitat for many species of birds of prey.
