A walk or drive through Hamsterley Forest in Autumn will eventually bring you to the waterfall at Blackling Hole, where Spurlswood Beck flows over the rocks. Hamsterley Forest is the largest forest in County Durham and covers more than 2,000 hectares of scenic woodland lying between the Wear and Tees valleys on the edge of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
