Description
Fields of phacelia growing on the North York Moors in Summer. Phacelia plants have many uses and, as well as being very beneficial as insect food they can also be grown as 'green manure' to replenish farm fields' . It produces a wonderful 'purple haze' across fields where it is grown, which contrasts well with the red of poppy fields.
