Artist's Description

Durham Cathedral is a World Heritage Site, standing on the banks of the River Wear in County Durham. It's full name is The Cathedral Church of Christ, Blessed Mary the Virgin and St Cuthbert of Durham. The Cathedral also houses the shrine of St Cuthbert, is the seat of the Bishop of Durham and a focus of pilgrimage and spirituality in North East England.
Below the Cathedral, on the banks of the River Wear sits the Old Fulling Mill. Fulling was the process of cleaning wool for cloth making.
