The Common Blue Butterfly (Polyommatus icarus) is the commonest blue butterfly in the UK and is found mainly in meadows and other grassland habitats. It mainly feeds on Birdsfoot Trefoil but its seen here roosting in the long grass at Easington Colliery Nature Reserve.

In so many ways the human race has lost its connection with nature. I developed a love of nature in my teens, which has never left me, and it's my wish that, in some small way, my images will help you reconnect with the beautiful world we live in and share.
