Named after a Medieval Castle that was long since abandoned, Castleton lies in the North York Moors below the Cleveland Hills in Eskdale and close to the Moorland town of Danby. This image was taken from North of the village, looking towards Church House and Danby moor. The village stretches out along nearly half a mile of the northern end of Castleton Rigg. As a result, every street in the village is on a slope.
In so many ways the human race has lost its connection with nature. I developed a love of nature in my teens, which has never left me, and it's my wish that, in some small way, my images will help you reconnect with the beautiful world we live in and share. My close up images show you the intricate beauty of nature which, I hope, will encourage you to stop, really look and appreciate the beauty and magnificent complexity of all creation. I'm never happier than when I'm sitting beneath a tree deep in a wood. I hope you find and deepen your connection too.
