Description
The Avro Lancaster Mk X operated by the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum at RAF Middleton St.George during its UK visit. The Lancaster was a British WWII bomber aircraft, although this Lancaster was built in 1945 and flown by RCAF Search and Rescue. It's called The 'Mynarski Memorial Lancaster' in memory of a Canadian who flew as a gunner in Lancaster Bombers in WWII and the aircraft is painted in the colours of the Lancaster in which he was shot down and died trying to rescue a fellow crew member, for which he was awarded the VC.
